There is great debate over what is the greatest Christmas holiday movie of all time and then there’s people who say Die Hard with Bruce Willis is a holiday classic. I absolutely loved Die Hard and it is definitely a classic movie, but as we approach the season to be jolly I started thinking “what exactly is my favorite movie to watch during the Christmas holidays”?
Around our house, we definitely watch The Grinch, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation has become a must watch every year. We’ve mixed it up a bit over the years and watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and who could forget the classic Home Alone with Macauley Culkin, who recently was recognized by receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
More Christmas classics I’ve enjoyed over the years in no particular order include:
- Miracle on 34th Street
- It’s A Wonderful Life
- A Christmas Carol
- A Christmas Story
- Bad Santa
- The Muppet Christmas Carol
- The Santa Clause
- Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas
- Mickey’s Christmas Carol
- Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
- Santa Clause Is Coming To Town
- Frosty The Snowman
- Elf
- How The Grinch Stole Christmas
- The Christmas Chronicles
- Klaus
- Spirited
- Scrooged
Although these are only just a few of the ones I have seen, the more I thought about all the great movies that have made their way into our hearts and homes, I couldn’t help but wonder how many of these movies exist that I have either never heard of or just never watched and which one is actually my favorite?
Honestly, they are all my favorite, but The Nightmare Before Christmas I would have to say is my all time favorite.
